Outlining novels are essential if you're going to sell from an outline, as most media tie-in fiction is done. I've sold three novels and numerous short stories from everything from a one-sentence pitch to a two page outline. This is BEFORE the book was ever written. Creating such outlines is different approach from outlining to write an entire novel. Generally pitch outlines need to be very short, very focused, and have a good hook.
