Recent improvements of African-descended representation in literature and popular media, especially those emphasizing speculative futures, pasts and presents, have birthed positive stories-turned-cultural-moments like Black Panther. This lecture explores the importance of celebrating Africanness within alternative realities, and the impact of such stories on imagining future Black liberty and growth.
